November is now recognized across Australia as “Movember”, the month where we raise awareness of men’s health by growing a mo (for those who can) and encouraging men to move. “Movember” encourages men to:
Stay in touch with your mates. Catch up regularly at your man-cave, local mens shed, blokes BBQ get together, ideas are endless.
Talk more, listen and give your time to your mates.
At 50 start talking to your GP about regular check-ups to prevent heart failure, strokes, diabetes, cancer and more.
“Know thy nuts” so if something doesn’t feel right you can tell your regular preferred treating doctor.
Get active – Every little bit counts
- Walk to work where you can
- Take the stairs instead of the lift
- Cycle to work and leave the care at home
- Do more of the exercise that makes you feel good?
