Influenza cases on the rise – how risky is this with COVID?

INFLUENZA CASES ARE ON THE RISE- HOW RISKY IS THIS WITH COVID?
Australia is starting to see the potentially devastating results of getting a COVID infection and influenza at the same time. The risk of a more severe disease and death is much higher than getting one infection on its own.
At the moment, influenza is largely affecting children in Australia and those most vulnerable are the unvaccinated. Please ensure your children are vaccinated against the flu to reduce their risk of a severe illness. In addition, if they are eligible for a COVID vaccine (5 years plus), please consider having this as well. They are approved to be administered at the same time if needed. We fully bulk bill all COVID and flu vaccinations made at our dedicated vaccine clinics.
We have vaccination clinics everyday except Monday. Please phone the clinic to book the whole family in for the flu vaccine or alternatively book online with HotDoc. If you are not able to attend the clinics please make an appointment with your usual treating doctor.
