    COVID-19 Vaccination After COVID-19 Infection

    By Quinns Mindarie Super Clinic | Quinns Mindarie, Uncategorized | 0 comment | 12 May, 2022 | 0
Updated guidelines from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI):
If you have had a confirmed Covid-19 infection, you should now wait 3 months before having any further Covid vaccine doses. This is largely because after a COVID-19 infection, your own natural immunity will last for around 12 weeks. After that the levels of protection will drop, so make sure to get whatever COVID-19 vaccine doses are due.
There is NO need to wait to have other vaccines like influenza, pneumococcal and shingles vaccines or other childhood or adolescent immunisations. These should not be delayed.
In exceptional circumstances, a COVID-19 vaccine dose after having a COVID infection can be given earlier than 3 months eg if you are planning international travel.
If you are not sure or have any questions, please talk to your GP.
