DON’T MISS OUT ON COVID-19 ANTI-VIRAL THERAPY IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE.
Many people who are at higher risk of a more severe COVID-19 infection are not aware they may be eligible for anti-viral therapy. Even if you are vaccinated, you may still benefit from anti-viral therapy.
The government has made these medications available to certain at-risk groups. If you are in any of the following groups, please make an appointment (video telehealth) with your GP if you test positive for COVID 19. The earlier the better! Treatment must be started in the first 5 days. Your doctor needs to work out which anti-viral medication is the best for you, depending on your individual risk and your current medications.
Higher risk groups include:
• 65 years plus
• Immunosuppressed people (such as those with cancer, on treatment for cancer or other treatments that suppress the immune system)
• One or more chronic disease including diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, stroke and obesity.
• Pregnant women
• Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated
