Your Time Is Valuable So We Are Making Changes To Reduce Our Waiting Times.
Everyone’s time is valuable and we have been listening to your feedback regarding how long you wait to see your regular treating GP at QMSC.
Having brainstormed the things that cause your doctor to run late, we have identified some key areas that needed change.
Kicking off the changes are our GPs who have looked at their average waiting times. Those with longer than average wait times have adjusted their appointment schedules to help reduce the amount of time you have to wait.
We have also looked at our ‘Happy Or Not’ Feedback terminal where you have had your say. We have identified key times where wait times are causing significant distress and again adjusted our appointment scheduling and staffing to improve workflow and reduce wait times.
You can also help your GP run on time but following a few simple guidelines:
o Request a double appointment if you have more than 1 problem or a more complex problem to discuss
o Request a double appointment if you have a mental health issue to discuss
o Write a list and let your doctor know about the list at the beginning of your consultation, so the doctor can work out what can be dealt with on the day and what may need a follow up appointment
o Let your doctor know your main concern at the beginning of the consultation rather than mentioning it at the end
o Be understanding when your doctor asks you to make a follow up appointment if there is not enough time to deal with everything at the one time.
Here at QMSC we strive for continuous quality improvement. Keep letting us know how we are doing, so that we can get even better
